Pulleys Systems and Levers

Pulley systems or Block and Tackle consist of an arrangements of pulley wheels and ropes such that the force that is applied to a load is a multiple of the force applied by the person or motor doing lifting.  The distance the person or motor must pull is also a multiple of the distance the load is lifted.

Click R25 and select "dynamics" and then select "Pulley" Applet.
